When life gets tough, how can we maintain peace with everyone and avoid bitterness, in order that our faith in Christ may be a witness to others? We cannot do this in our own strength, but only by God’s grace. Therefore our confidence must be in His Kingdom that cannot be shaken. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful but God disciplines us with love and in these times we need to trust what we know: God is good, loving and wise, he does not make mistakes. The book of Hebrews was written to suffering and persecuted Christians and the message is clear that every Christian needs to persevere and endure to the end.
