What To Expect When You Visit…

Whether you’re just here for a one off visit or looking to join the church on a permanent basis, we hope that you feel warmly welcome and know that you are amongst friends at Jersey Baptist Church. Coming along to a church for the first time (particularly if you’re not used to it) can be a little daunting but we hope that you feel right at home among us.

Each Sunday we have a team of people to welcome you at the door and a designated area where you can get information on the church and all that goes on during the week.

We also hope to encourage you in your understanding of the Christian faith whatever stage you’re at and we desire that people get to know Christ as the Bible is taught through challenging and thought-provoking sermons.

Notice – Safer travel guidance for visitors to Jersey Baptist Church

With the borders having opened up last week we are aware that we may start see some visitors who have travelled into Jersey coming to our church services. We look forward to welcoming them.

However, in order to comply with the government regulations and to protect the congregation, we will therefore be asking those who we do not recognise as being a locally resident whether they are visiting from outside the island. If they are, they must satisfy us that they have received a negative Covid test result prior to being allowed into the building.

Please do bear this in mind if you have anyone due to be visiting you. Likewise, if you are intending to take a trip away from the island, on your return please ensure that you have received a negative Covid test before coming back to church. We hope you understand that whilst we want to be able to welcome visitors to our services, we must take every precaution to ensure that we do not expose anyone to unnecessary risk.

Thank you for your understanding.

10:30am Morning Service (Please check above for current service details)

During our service there will be times to pray and sing and listen to God from the Bible. Our services usually last for just over an hour. All our team are on deck on any given Sunday and you can ask them anything you like about the church or Christianity in general.

Church can be an intimidating place to visit — especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the gospel means both intellectually and relationally at one of our Sunday worship services. You can engage with others as much as you want, or remain anonymous if you prefer. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.

Join our dynamic teaching sessions styled Vauxhall Talks.  The ‘Vauxhall Talks’ are held Sunday evenings during term time at Jersey Baptist Church, Vauxhall Street, St Helier starting at 6pm. The format is similar to ‘Ted Talks’ with each session consisting of a talk on a theological, ethical, or ministry topic, followed by small group discussion, and then a chance to quiz the speaker. All the sessions begin and end with prayer!
