We are delighted that following a relaxation in lock down regulations we will be able to begin meeting again in a limited capacity at Jersey Baptist Church on Vauxhall Street for Sunday services from 21st June 2020.
We will be running two morning services at church as well as continuing Jersey Baptist Church Live. The details of our Sunday provision are:
9-10 am Family Service Adults Gathering in the Main Church Building (max 40 ppl)Children Gathering for Children’s Church in the Church Hall (max 40 ppl). (Children’s Church can be accessed live via zoom for those who choose to stay at home.)
10:30-11:30 am Modern Adult Service Adults Gathering in Main Church Building (max 40 ppl)No Children’s Provision in this Service
While our gathering will be different to usual as there will be no live singing for the time being, there will be time for prayer, interviews, inspiring videos, reflective songs which will be played from pre-recorded videos, and a talk from the Bible. At the end of our Modern Adult Service there will be a time for Q & A and a bit more time to catch up with one another.
The maximum number of people permitted to meet for each gathering is 40, however as the children will be meeting in the church hall as a separate gathering, the maximum we can accommodate for the 9:00 am service, including children, is 80.
To enable us to monitor numbers we should be grateful if you would indicate your intention to attend either service by using the sign up facility.
Only one person per household to sign up their whole group please.
For those who are unable or do not yet feel comfortable coming back to church, please note that we will be continuing to livestream the 10:30am service online.

Format:
The first part of our time
together will be in one big group. When
we split into age specific groups we will take your child to a ‘break out room’
on Zoom, and place our laptop / tablet in the relevant children’s group in the
room where we are meeting.
Printing:
Please would you print out the following according to which age-group your children are in, otherwise follow the activities on the pdfs. A balloon is also needed for this session.
Below are some suggested activities and order of play to do
with your children as you do Sunday Church together. Each week there will be
activity sheets and also some things to watch or listen to.

Children can join for the songs at the end of the service
At the end of the service here are some ideas for you to follow
as a family:
A. Ask some simple questions
What do we learn about God?
What do we learn about ourselves?
What do I need to do now I know that about God?
Big Idea:
Jesus’ followers will make other people’s lives better as they live very differently,
and this will cause others to love God too.
Aim:
For the children to identify a way in their life that they can live very
differently from others because of their faith in Jesus. Pray that this would cause others would love
God too.
B. Pray with your children about what you have discussed
Light prayers:
In the craft the children will have written or drawn ways in
which they would like their lives to be different to others because of their
faith in Jesus.
Stick the flames onto a board or wall and turn off the
lights.
Use a torch to point at each flame and pray about what has
been written or drawn.

Prop prayers:
Apple
– say sorry to God for the wrong things we do all the time. Admit that, as our natural selves, we are
rotten as an apple that is rotten to the core and there is nothing we can do to
please God.
Heart –
destroy a black felt tip heart on a piece of paper and replace with a red
heart. Thank God that he gives us a new
heart when we trust in Jesus. Thank God
for his Holy Spirit who helps us want to be and able to be good
Mirror
– pray that as people belonging to God we might be able to reflect something of
God’s goodness to the world.
