Eat // Engage // Discuss (Monthly)

An evening of food, catching up with friends, a talk on a topical subject, discussion around tables and an interview with an individual on the topic for that evening.

This monthly gathering runs at Jersey Baptist Church and is for all those in their 20s/30s whether they come to church regularly or not.

Weekly Small Groups

We have a community of around 20-30 Young Adults who mix in with people of all ages and backgrounds within the church to look at the Bible each week as a small group. These groups are normally run in a home and may consist of around 8-12 people, of which some will be new to faith, some who have been a Christian a number of years and some who may still be exploring the claims of Christianity. A typical evening would normally start around 7.30pm with a cuppa and catch up, followed by a discussion led by a leader who will have questions related to the passage that was spoken on at the previous Sunday’s service. These groups are accessible to all and it’s fine to sit back and listen to the discussion around you and equally to come with lots of questions!

There are groups on different evenings and times of the day in different locations around the island so please contact Nick below for more information.

Social Events

From time to time we also have social events for our 20/30s and their friends, such as Summer BBQs, Christmas Socials, Dinner and Drinks in town etc.

For more information on any of the above please contact Nick

How can we know if God exists?

Surely God/the Bible is outdated now?

How can God help us with the challenges of life?

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Sunday Church – After-School Clubs – Holiday Clubs

At Jersey Baptist Church our hope is that families flourish, younger children are nurtured and older children mature into the young people God made them to be.
Children are an integral part of our Church family. We are well used to having children involved in all that we do, and enjoy the informality and warmth that they bring. Our prayer is that from birth to adulthood, there is a place where any child or young person will be made to feel welcome and valued. We hope amongst the many activities and groups happening on Sundays, and at other times, each child will find for themselves a highlight of their week.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH
Sundays, 10.00am

Action Songs – Bible Time – Games – Crafts – Friends – Snacks

Every Sunday, children and their families have an opportunity to learn about the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
Children are important to us, so we’ve created a place for them to learn about Jesus on their level. Every Sunday all children experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way.

How it works on a Sunday Morning

Dropoff:

All children join their parents for the first part of our Sunday morning gathering.

Splashers (pre-school)
Children should be dropped off at the Splashers room upstairs for sign in and pick up.  Any children new to Splashers please register your child with the team before returning to the service downstairs.

Dippers, Divers & Surfers (primary school)

Children will head to their groups with their leaders. Dippers & Divers children (i.e. Reception to school year 4) can head directly to the upper hall where they will be checked-in.  Surfers gather outside and wait for their leaders to accompany them to the Life Centre also on Vauxhall Street.  Any Surfers arriving late should be accompanied by a parent to the upstairs room in the Life  Centre where Surfers meet.

Pickup:

All school-age children are to be collected from the hall immediately after the service, from which time they become their parents responsibility.

Youth (Secondary school)

Drop off/Registration – Young people will be accompanied by their leaders to the life centre at the appropriate part in the church service.

Pick up –  leaders to bring the young people back to the church after the session to make their way back to parent(s).

Our Sunday Youth Programme follows this pattern each month:

1st Sunday – In the main service with a crib sheet to fill in during sermon.

2nd Sunday – Youth Session (Life Centre)

The Dangerous Club, for children age 7-13, offers a huge chunk of action and adventure. Held at Jersey Baptist Church one Friday evening a month during term time, this club is run for the community. With a high ratio of adults, we can ensure that every child leaves with amazing stories, a huge smile and knowing a little more of Jesus. You never know what will be on offer at Dangerous Club. One month the theme might be martial arts and survival skills, the next month it might be hip hop dance and graffiti wall art. Not for the faint hearted, but definitely for the adventurous.
